In cooperation with individual landowners, managers, and communities, WC provides comprehensive ranch and resource assessments, wolf-livestock conflict risk assessments, and planning and strategic development at no cost to the landowner. We work to co-develop ranch-specific management strategies with multiple co-benefits in the context of wolf-livestock conflict risk reduction and increasing ranch resiliency.
WC recognizes that ranch management and predator coexistence is not a one-shoe-fits-all scenario. What might work in one area or circumstance may not be appropriate for another region or individual operation. By working with individual producers and through a community effort, strategies that are reflective of the landowner’s unique challenges are discovered and developed. And it is through the sharing of experience, lessons learned, and willingness to try new approaches that success can be found.
Individual ranch risk-assessments are conducted in partnership with our wolf-livestock conflict specialists and rancher partners in Montana and Canada who each have a lifetime of experience living and ranching with wolves. Contact us here if you are interested in a confidential assessment.
